L2 & L3 Laboratories

L2 LABORATORY

The L2 biosafety laboratory is dedicated to the confined experimentation of biologic agents classified in group 2 (according to French regulation of the 16 July 2007) and of genetically modified organisms (GMOs) to be confined in a level 2 laboratory (according to the HCB manual of  30 November 2014).

It is open to all CRC members and to members of its associated universities, as well as external users, academic or private.

Equipment

The CRC L2 laboratory is equipped with 3 workstations:

  • One is for virus experimentation and primary cell cultures.
  • The other two are for cell lines culture.

In addition to the usual equipment, the L2 provides access to the xCELLigence RTCA DP.

This instrument allows continuous measurements of cell invasion and migration by impedance measurement, without labeling.

Reservation

L2 request and equipment reservations are done through the OpenIRIS system.

The use of OpenIRIS requires the creation of a personal account. Please contact the L2 staff in charge to create and validate your personal account.

L3 LABORATORY

The CRC is equipped of a Biosafety Level 3 core facility (L3). This laboratory is designed for the confined experimentation of biologic agents classified in group 3 (according to French regulation of 16 July 2007) and of genetically modified organisms (GMOs) to be confined in level 3 laboratory (European directive 2009/41/CE).

The CRC L3 core facility is certified Iso9001:v2015 and NFX-50-900.

It is available to all CRC members, to members of its associated universities as well as to external users, academic or private.

Equipment

The CRC L3 laboratory is equipped with 3 workstations:

  • One dedicated to the bacteria experimentation
  • One dedicated to viruses experimentation
  • One dedicated to GMOs experimentation, particularly those derived from viral vectors

In addition to the required equipments (safety hoods, protective equipments, …), the L3 is equipped with an ultracentrifuge as well as high capacity centrifuges, CO2 incubators and a fluorescence microscope.

Reservation

Please, contact the L3 core facility for information and details on how to access it.

The use of the L3 space and equipments requires a reservation through the OpenIRIS system.

The use of OpenIRIS requires the creation of a personal account. Please contact the L3 core facility to find out how to create and validate an OpenIRIS personal account.
