On the role of immune cells in metabolic

reprogramming in fatty liver disease-provoking

NASH and liver cancer

Although chronic viral infections are the leading cause for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), alcoholic steatohepatitis, non-alcoholic fatty liver (NAFL) and subsequent non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) have become important HCC etiologies. Pre-clinical mouse models have enabled studying mechanisms of inflammation induced liver cancer. I will report on different immune cells driving NASH and liver cancer and novel therapeutic targets.
